ABOUT FilePLAY

FilePLAY presents an interesting alternative way into your music collection, a music player for playing all music within a folder by handling music tracks by folder rather than by metadata like album and artist. FilePLAY work directly from the file and folder system on your BlackBerry smartphone. Simply select a folder with music track in it and all files in the folder will be played continuously. FilePLAY also support video whether music video or movie and capable of open and playing both video and audio files. For video files, only audio in the video will played and no video output.

FilePLAY can access audio and video files on phone storage ,memory card and computer drive with “Remote File Access” feature. To be able to access and browse computer drive, “Remote File Access” feature need to be set up first.

FilePLAY Radio is a feature that give access to hundred of thousand of radio channel from more than 200 countries streaming live from internet. From afrikaans, chinese, malay, arabic, latin and many more. FilePLAY Radio provide alternative source for listening to music rather than just from your BlackBerry device music track collections.

-FilePLAY radio channel is provided by third party source and certain radio channel may not be able to be play due to not supported format or access restriction impose by certain countries.

OPERATING GUIDE

Timer Guide :

Timer is used to to automatically close FilePLAY after a specified time frame. There are five half-hours increments which can be selected,from 1/2 hour to 2 1/2 hours.

Shake Control Guide:

The shake setting can be enabled to change songs by simply shaking the device.There are three sensitivity to choose from : High, Medium, Low.
Shake also works while FilePLAY is minimised to the background or the screen is locked,so a song can be skipped without having to unlock the device or bring FilePLAY to foreground.

Update Information

As of 1 January 2014, Nokia is no longer accepting new apps or updates to existing ones from the developers, As such,all updates will now be available from http://applist.schumi1331.de app Store only. If you still don’t have AppList app installed yet, please download the Installer first. Any future update other than from Applist is an illegal copy of FilePLAY.

So what is smart installer. Well…smart installer itself is an app and inside the smart installer containing the app that you want to install. You may wonder why would developer want to put app inside an app. That because nokia compel developer to and there is a reason for that. Each qt app need certain qt libraries like qt 4.x.x( depend on your phone model),qt quick component, qtwebkit, qtmobility, gstreamer and few more libraries that the app require to run. Example if the app need qt component and your phone is not installed with one then when you open the app, it will show black screen only.Although most newer nokia phone that already updated or preinstalled with nokia belle os like nokia n8, c7, 603, 700, 701 and the monster phone..808 pureview already have this libraries preinstalled, some older phones model that use s60v5 os like 5800, n97, x6 (there are just too many device) and some phone that still stuck with symbian^3 or anna don’t have this libraries or it is outdated so this is where smart installer do it’s job.

This is the first step where you download your app. When the download is completed ,the smart installer installation begin. This only install the smart installer app that contain the real app. Usually this only takes a few second as only one process is involve. So next step begin soon.

This is where the smart installer finish installation and begin checking your phone for any missing libraries or outdated libraries that is required by the apps. This is the slowest process and could take longer if your phone is missing or have outdated libraries since smart installer will need to do additional download and installing the libraries. Don’t be worry about smart installer download all libraries as smart installer will only download the libraries require by the app. The second steps is faster if you already have the libraries because there is no need for additional downloads and installation to do. Do note some libraries size is in Mb so older s60v5 could have memory issues due to small phone memory space. Newer phone have plenty of phone memory space so no need to worry about memory as some libraries will also be updated only. This step is quite slow compare with first step and it could be longer if any additional downloads is needed.

This last steps is where the real app begin to install. All the require libraries is already downloaded and installed if needed. The phone will now begin the real app installation process. You though that this should be over quickly because now the phone only install the app and nothing more then you are wrong. When the the app installation is completed there is additional process. That is uninstall. What to uninstall you think. Well..you remember the first step where phone install the smart installer. Now the phone need to uninstall the smart installer that wrap the app after the real app installation completed. In this step the phone need to to install the real app and uninstall smart installer.
Now this should give you a rough idea why installing qt app from app from nokia store always so slow. Maybe you could do the counting for me the total process from start to end for me cause too lazy to ?. Looks like nokia smart installer is no so smart after all and should be called qt installer. Do note that this not nokia fault because qt/qml is still new and not fully mature so nokia smart installer is always needed in case there is any update in libraries so it could be push to you as an update. So that’s it,nokia smart installer always be part of qt app. Maybe next time you could make some coffee or tea while installing qt apps.

I have read a lot of complain from nokia phone users that their phone C: memory keep going down. So today i write this blog to help nokia phone users how to regain their C: memory back. So far my nokia n8 with belle refresh still have a 64.5 mb left and i still manage to maintain this memory amount since i updated my phone to belle refresh till now.For your info,my n8 belle refresh also installed with microsoft app that a lot users complain that this app take a way their precious memory. Below i provide the list of apps or files that you can uninstall safely without affecting your phone performance unless you need to use that particular apps. Please be noted some of this apps can only be deleted with netqin antivirus ‘”pro” version. So do subscribe to the antivirus.

Files : 

All tmp,temp and cache folders in C memory. All this files can only be view with “y browser” or other files explorer apps. Be noted that delete wrong files could cause unknown effect on phone performance so only delete what you know and “DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK”

There are still some apps that can be deleted like other microsoft app that i don’t listed here because i still using them but i think it should be safe to delete.  All the app listed above are already deleted from my n8. The list will continue be update if there is anything new. Feel free to comment below.
